We appreciate that you chose University Family Dental for your dental care.  We sincerely welcome you and your family to our practice. Your comfort is our primary concern.  Our office will combine high-tech equipment with gentle care to provide the most comprehensive treatment plan possible.

For your convenience, our website at DrKimMartin.com can assist in answering your questions, as well as providing a comprehensive list of the dental services that we provide.  Our online health and dental history questionnaire found in New Patient Forms is available and can be filled out prior to your initial visit.  Please include a list of all of your medications and let the staff know if there are any changes to your health or medicines at subsequent visits.

Exam

Once meeting our friendly staff, the visit will follow with either the Dental Hygienist or the Dentist, based on your specific needs. A thorough oral exam is recommended every 6 months.  As a courtesy, our office will remind you of your upcoming exams and cleanings.

Our team will perform a complete review of your:

  • Medical and dental history
  • Blood pressure screening for patients over 35 years of age
  • Head and neck exam
  • Oral cancer screening
    • The Velscope Screening exam is available. The Velscope is a specialized fluorescent light that detects dangerously damaged areas in the mouth.

X-Rays

Radiographs, also called X-rays, are an extremely important tool in diagnosing your current dental health. We prefer to have an updated set of full mouth X-rays on all of our new patients.  Recent, good-quality, duplicate bitewing or periapical films (6 months to one year old) can be used to assist with the treatment plan. University Family Dental will serve as a guide as to when new films are needed.
