Let our dentists address your sleep-related disorders with Silent Nite® devices in Las Cruces, NM.
HOW SILENT NITE® SLEEP APPLIANCE WORKS?
Silent Nite® is an anti-snoring oral device, also called a mandibular advancement device (MAD) that can minimize the symptoms of sleep-disordered breathing. The appliance comes with a pair of connectors, available in plastic or metal, and an AM Aligner®. To ensure this treatment’s clinical success, the appliance gently shifts the lower jaw forward while the patient is asleep. The primary purpose of the Silent Nite® appliance is to activate and support airway ligaments and muscles to prevent them from collapsing further. Connectors properly coordinate the upper and lower arches, support the sleep appliance, and gently shift the mandible. The AM Aligner® in this sleep apnea device is proven effective in realigning the jaw in the morning. The device fits comfortably in the mouth, stabilizing the jaw while remaining slightly flexible for natural movement.
SILENT NITE® DEVICES: QUICK GUIDE TO INSERTION & FIT
Our dentist in Las Cruces first applies the upper splint portion to the upper teeth to insert the appliance. Once in place, we slip the lower splint into its exact position on the lower teeth. To make the device work efficiently, the connectors may need adjustment or replacement over time or following recommended efficacy check-ups with your sleep doctor. Contact our dentist for more information on our insertion and fitting process of Silent Nite® devices.
THE BENEFITS OF SLEEP DENTISTRY
- Better Night’s Sleep: This appliance, designed to improve interrupted breathing for mild to moderate sleep apnea, optimizes sleep quality. Sleep dentistry helps open blocked airways, enhancing overall long-term health.
- Quiet And Discreet: Although more extensive approaches might be prescribed by your doctor for mild to moderate sleep dysfunction; when not tolerated, dental sleep apnea appliances are noiseless compared to CPAP machines. Less visually obstructive, these devices allow you and your loved ones to sleep without feeling self-conscious.
- Portability: These devices are highly portable. Frequent travelers or those seeking constant access to treatment can confidently choose these appliances or use them as an adjunct to CPAP therapy.
- Comfort And Convenience: CPAP machines come with masks that might not be comfortable for many individuals. Silent Night® devices offer an alternative that is less intrusive and easy to wear, helping you adjust to the sleep apnea treatment. Please note, that we prefer to work with a sleep apnea specialist to identify the best approach for maximal health benefits.
